What are you waiting for?
The end of each year is a time of anticipation. It’s also the time for anxiety. It’s a time of passages and passing. Transition and transformation. Celebration and frustration.
Where do you fit into this picture? What are you awaiting the advent of?
Do you have your head in your hands, wondering whether or not you will make your numbers? Are you realizing that your current revenue stream may not allow you to keep your company’s doors open by end of next quarter?
Are you tired of making excuses for why you didn’t complete your college education, or never went to a junior or four-year college in the first place? Are your choices – based on biases and baggage from a former life – holding you back from moving yourself forward?
What are you waiting for? Isn’t it time for you to lead yourself forward?
Are you beating yourself up mentally because you feel you are less than – yet you yearn to be more than? Do you pay too much attention to what others say about you, rather than having self-confidence and self-belief in who you are as a business person of worth?
The hardest decision you need to make today is the decision to take your first step forward: towards. Once you take the first step, and make a commitment to yourself, your path becomes clearer.
What are you waiting for? Isn’t it time for you to lead yourself forward?
Today’s globally competitive business environment calls for individuals just like you: square pegs trying to fit in round holes because you think beyond the borders of your professional discipline. Are you really a leader?
You are stuck in a job that requires redundant daily activity. Yet you connect the dots across departmental silos and give everyone a bigger picture of possible outcomes. Are you really a leader?
You are trying to fit in and run with the corporate pack, yet you are compromised each day by the superficial, trivial and unkind manner in which people treat each other. Why continue to follow that?
What are you waiting for?
The time is now to liberate yourself from your own status quo mindset. It’s not the responsibility of anyone else but you.
The time is now to give yourself permission to move forward and explore opportunities and possibilities. You won’t be recognized or rewarded for keeping a low profile and just doing your job.
The time is now for pursuing learning because you want to learn new things and connect new dots. Today, you will find you are a much more attentive and productive student than you were before, because you understand the value of the outcome.
Today is the day you were waiting for. It’s time to lead yourself forward.
