In order to get to one finish line, you have to make the decision to be part of the race. No one will understand the value you bring to the business table until you decide to show it to them.
You may have to run the race a number of times in order to contend. No one will understand the value you bring to the business table until you consistently demonstrate it to them.
You will improve your personal productivity and professional acumen in the process, as you improve your position amongst the competitors. No one will respect your value until you stay the course over time and hold true to your mission and focus.
If you want a place at your company’s business table, then make the decision to invite yourself in the first place. No one will know you want to attend until and unless you let them know you are interested in what they have to say.
We started a journey together on April 18, 2009. That journey led to one finish line today. My Sales Aerobics for Engineers® Blog was awarded the Bronze Medal, 2014 Top Sales & Marketing Individual Blog by Top Sales World.
We made the decision to start a dialogue with each other. That dialogue continues to this day. I am inspired to write each blog post because of your feedback, your frustrations with how business “is” and how it really “should be”. I am inspired to write each post because the key to global economic recovery is your own success and the success of your startup or small to midsize business.
I am inspired to write each post because until we decide to drop the biases and baggage which create barriers between us, it will remain an Us versus Them world. That’s got to stop now. We are the online community to draw our personal lines in the professional sand.
You supported me in this competition, just as you have encouraged and supported me in my blogging and consulting. You had my back. I continue to have yours.
This award honors you as much as it does me. Together it’s quite a journey. And we’ve only just started towards our next destination.
In 2015 I offer you a number of ways to continue growing into a business person of greater worth. It’s about having those conversations with customers that you both didn’t realize you wanted to have with each other – until you started your collaborative dialogue. I’ll show you how.
Yes, today we got to one finish line together and a significant one at that. Bronze Medal. Quite a cross-functional, collaborative accomplishment.
I’ve already started our next journey. I’m looking forward to your company and inspiration along the way. Stay tuned for what’s launching in the New Year!
When we all pull together, we can and indeed will accomplish quite a lot.
We did it today. We will do it again. Leading each other collaboratively. Together.
My thanks to you for your ongoing, remarkable support.
