Revenue generation is everyone’s collaborative responsibility, regardless of whether it is stated or not in your job description. Are you engaged in revenue generation or cost containment in your current professional role? Instead of either-or, let’s transform your role into yes-and.
Are you going back into traditional professional roles which separate people by how they solve problems? As a result, you are placed into functional cost-centers or revenue-generators. How about moving forward into playing a solid role in not only cutting or controlling costs for your organization. Instead, why not also create solutions which are revenue-generating?
Ready to move one millimeter beyond the confines of your current professional role? Click this link to discover how collaborative problem solving catalyzes your professional innovation. Become more professionally visible, cross functionally relevant, and strategically valuable to colleagues, employers, and clients.
Revenue generation is not the same as cost containment. Why not change your professional equation?
In my speaking programs and workshops, some attendees still equate cost containment with revenue generation. However, think about your own household budgets. Even if you save money one month, have you actually earned more money as well? Otherwise, the money you save or control or contain one month goes out the door for expenditures the following month. Costs are costs. Savings are savings. Earned income is earned income. Profit is profit.
What is holding you back from moving one millimeter forward to get to where you really need to go?
- Do you work in a department of cost-containers, yet want to take a collaborative leadership role within your organization?
- Is it group-think holding you back from moving one millimeter forward professionally? Or perhaps you remain intimidated by skeptical thinkers outside your current professional discipline?
- Do you lack the confidence, mindset, and professional tools to push back on same-old solutions and propose more innovative, revenue-generating ones?
Regardless of whether you work on the operations or business sides of the organization, collaborative problem solving focuses on productively and profitably moving forward together. And sure. Not all projects or clients or colleagues are going to be open to sailing into what may be uncharted professional waters.
However, are you permitting what “they” want to do to control and contain what you really need to choose to do, moving forward?
Alternatively, many of you tell me after chapter meetings and conferences that my message, programs, and methods speak directly to your career concerns. You are relieved, hopeful, and gain direction as I provide the keys to your professional success, one millimeter at a time. After all, your goal is to transform into a trusted, purpose-driven resource and collaborative leader because you understand how, when, and why revenue generation is everyone’s responsibility.
Isn’t it your time to take your place at your organization’s leadership table? I think so too. Then take these next steps.
