As you and I enjoy the remaining days of 2021, I offer you these three tips to reflect on as we move one millimeter forward together into the new year.
Cut yourself some slack.
Do you realize your inner critic holds you back instead of allowing you to move one millimeter forward towards where you really need to go? Is that critic (still) telling you that you are not perfect? Does this message dominate you each day? Consider that perfection is never the target you need to seek. What appears “perfect” today is transient when you awake tomorrow. Remain open to and be present for what is new, and next, and continuously changing around you and inside you.
Be more mindful of the people you choose to spend time with.
The folks who populate your days deliver direct and indirect messages to you, as well. Do their messages reinforce the voice of your inner critic? As a result, are you less available and open to cultivating new relationships with people who are not in the least bit interested in holding you back? In fact, these new relationships are created because these people find you interesting, even fascinating. Even if you do not see the world the same way they do, they are open and present so you both can move one millimeter forward, together. When you are open to and present for them, as well, you both move one millimeter forward towards where you really need to go. Together.
I strongly believe that you and I can change the world, one millimeter at a time, together.
What are the smallest changes you can make, each day, which have the biggest impact on your mindset, values, principles, and ability to solve complex problems, together? I just provided two millimeters worth of fuel for your journey forward. Let these small activities become a mental (and physical) oasis which you continuously dip into. Refresh, reset, and recalibrate. The goal is not perfection. Instead, start to feel less guilty about and duty-bound to holding yourself back. You will be amazed at the change in your mental and physical energy, moving forward.
I wish my community and colleagues much joy, happiness and, most of all, peace. Not only do I thank you for your business, I also am grateful for your counsel and support. Let’s change the world, together, one millimeter at a time, moving forward.
This is my last post of 2021. I will be cutting myself some slack 🙂 and taking the remaining days of the year off to refresh, reset, and recalibrate! I look forward to serving you in 2022!
